Personality:

Charming and silver-tongued, Jae-Ha is both confident and good-natured on the surface. He is flirtatious and often speaks of aesthetics-- he’s not interested in anything that he doesn’t deem to be beautiful, literally or figuratively. Though he could be categorized as a womanizer, he does have his own code of honor and prefers innuendo to being all-out lewd. Though he’s not shy about flirting with nearly every beautiful woman that crosses his path, he does believe in chivalry-- one of his earliest appearances shows him immediately intervening when he sees that a young woman is being harassed by one of the local guards. He physically disposes of the guard (with unexpected help from Hak) and ensures the girl is in safe hands before taking off again, after saying that he can’t stand to see women treated so shamefully. He prefers to pursue his romantic conquests rather than to be pursued, and has shown a liking for strong women, in addition to his having a lightheartedly masochistic side.

He openly states “It is a general principle of mine to treat women with the utmost care,” a sentiment that absolutely shows through in his actions, though it’s more than just a fondness for lovely ladies. In truth, that principle extends to all people he considers to be good and worthy of protecting. He is loyal, serving Captain Gi-Gan with devotion that is thinly veiled by flippancy and smart remarks, and under her command, he works alongside her band of pirates to protect the people of Awa. As pirates, they only targeted ships belonging to the port’s corrupt government, working tirelessly to bring an underground slave trade to an end-- a cause that wound up being particularly close to Jae-Ha’s heart, given that he prizes freedom above all else. As the green dragon, imprisonment was a large part of his childhood, and as an adult, he feels that the prophecy concerning his serving the reincarnation of King Hiryuu is only another form of imprisonment. When Yona and her companions first come to Awa, Jae-Ha makes an effort to avoid them, using his ability to sense the other dragons to keep a safe distance and feeling that meeting his supposed master will be the beginning of the end for him. Giving up his freedom “goes against his aesthetic,” and he will not abide it.

It’s Yona herself that changes his mind. Her kindness, her determination, her compassion and quiet strength-- all of these are enough to make him reconsider. Of course, there’s the fact that the other dragons follow her willingly, as well, something that speaks volumes in and of itself. Yona did not demand they lend her their power, but asked for it instead, and though Jae-Ha initially resists and insists on staying in Awa even after Yona has requested his company, he finds himself unable to stay behind. Though he can be both vain and proud, Jae-Ha becomes a warm presence within the group, easily stepping into the role of a protective older brother. He quickly becomes fond of his fellow dragons, and often indulges in good-natured teasing. Hak is one of his favorite targets for trolling, especially because he and Jae-Ha both harbor romantic feelings for Yona-- though Jae-Ha only ever flirts with her with the intention of getting under Hak’s skin, an attempt that is almost always met with success. Otherwise, Jae-Ha is quick to deny his own feelings for Princess Yona, intent on convincing himself (and any who ask) that it's only the call of the dragon's blood that draws him to her, as well as citing their age difference as a reason why such talk should be dismissed.

Abilities:

Dragon's Foot - Possessing the power of the dragon in his right leg, Jae-Ha is able to jump to incredible heights and distances, making it appear as though he can fly. His right leg is also exceptionally strong, and so he weaves well-timed kicks into his combat style. His leg can be enlarged, but he prefers not to use this ability, being self-conscious of its appearance to begin with.

Dragon Sense - Jae-Ha can sense the location of his fellow Dragon Warriors, and was able to use this particular power to avoid them just before their first meeting, not wanting the dragons and their Master to rob him of his freedom.

Combat Prowess - He primarily uses throwing daggers in combat, combined with the enhanced strength in his leg. Because he is able to soar, he spends much of his time in battle airborne, raining blades down on his enemies with impressive accuracy. His agility and fondness for acrobatics give him a considerable edge against most foes, as he is able to outmaneuver many of his enemies.

God/Shinki: Shinki
Why?: Due to how strongly Jae-Ha resents any threat to his freedom, I'm looking forward to playing with his being beholden to a god and what that might stir in him as time goes on. In addition, it mirrors the fact that as Ryokuryuu, he is drawn to serve the current incarnation of King Hiryuu, something he rebelled against until he decided for himself that Yona was worth following.
Cause of Death: Cut down by an officer while protecting a villager from abuse, unwilling to allow a child to be sold into slavery.
Vessel: Jae-Ha will become a full-size dragon to serve as a mount or fight at his god's command.
Name Location: Over his heart.
Power: In dragon form, Jae-Ha will gain the full power of flight (as opposed to his usual soaring), enabling his god to use him as a mount.
